Why I love Insanity (but not all of it)

Full disclosure here, folks: I love the workout program Insanity.  I do!  I think it's awesome, I love Shaun T, it makes me sweat like whoa and I've previously had awesome results with it and am currently working on some new post-baby results (I swear this has been more difficult than those pre-baby results!  But I'm still hanging in there!)

Why I love Insanity (but not all of it)

What I don't love about Insanity?  Plyometric Cardio Circuit.  There, I said it and I can't take it back.  It's out there in the universe and if Mr Shaun T himself ever finds himself on this little ole blog page of mine {unlikely, but a girl can dream, right?!} he'll know that I am not a fan of this specific routine.

Why do I not love it?

Because it's hard.  I have no shame in admitting that!  Sure, all the workouts are hard, but there is something especially difficult (in my mind at least) about PCC.  When the first move after the warm-up and stretching is called 'suicide drills' you know that can't be easy.

When I look at my schedule if I see Plyometric Cardio Circuit I cringe just a little bit - then I tie on my big girl shoes and do the workout, because that's what big girls have to do sometimes.  But I don't necessarily enjoy it.

Today was one of those cringing mornings.  I looked at the schedule, saw PCC {because who doesn't love using initials over writing out the whole words, amiright?!} and cringed.  Then I went to my Insanity workout booklet, flipped to the correct page that holds the dvd and saw...nothing!  The disc wasn't there, surely this was a sign from the heavens that PCC just wasn't really supposed to happen today, right?  I thought for a half second about just plopping in Pure Cardio and doing that instead, but cooler heads prevailed and I looked for 30 seconds to find the correct disc.  Luckily {or perhaps unluckily, I'll know in a couple minutes} I found the PCC disc sandwiched between La Vie en Rose and the Netflix mailer in which it came.  #winning

Why I love Insanity (but not all of it)

(There was always the option of just signing into Beachbody on Demand and streaming the workout to my tv, which I would have done next.  There's something satisfying about finding a lost thing, even if it's not necessarily something you want to find at the moment.)

So now that that's all said and done - here I go for my workout!  I'd offer to take a post-workout selfie, but the storage on my iPhone is at its breaking point for storage and won't take even one more picture.  Perhaps that is my gift to you this morning - no post-workout selfie to deal with!

You're welcome.

In the meantime, if you're curious about Insanity or another Beachbody program and would like to chat, please get in touch and we can see if my upcoming challenge group would be a good fit for helping you improve your health, nutrition and fitness.  I would love to share it with you!

Until next time,
