Post-Halloween Sugar Recovery

Halloween will be here before we know it!  It's just a couple weeks away (though, if I'm being honest, it's hard to tell that it's October when you walk into most stores.  They're already decked out for Christmas!  What happened to Thanksgiving?!)

Anywho, Halloween almost always means that our sugar intake goes up a bit. Whether it's from us buying candy to hand out (and sampling from the bowl), our kids bringing candy home, or going to Halloween parties, there is always a big spike in opportunities for sweets around this time of year.

From what I've seen in the last couple years of being a Beachbody Coach is that people let go of the handlebars at this time of the year.  They see that Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are right around the corner so they allow themselves a 3 month splurge time and then jump back into it when the new year rolls around.  I am not saying this to judge at all, because believe me, before I joined my first Beachbody challenge group I was in a time of splurging that lasted much longer than three months!

Once I joined, though, I got some pretty darn good results!
What I do now, as a coach, though, is to encourage and help people to not give up on themselves just because it looks like the path ahead might be difficult.  By joining a Beachbody challenge group we are committing to ourselves and to each other to try to do better.  To workout, eat healthy and take control of our health rather than just going along for the ride and seeing where we end up.  I can say from personal experience that ending the year on a high note of health and fitness feels so much better than limping into the new year with three months worth of bad food and inactivity behind me, and I truly feel that most people would agree if they gave it a shot!

That's what brings me to this post.  Starting November 3 I will be running a 60-day challenge group that will run specifically during this most difficult time of the year.  Yep, it might seem crazy to commit to health and fitness right now but imagine how incredible it would feel to go into 2016 in the best shape possible rather than feeling sluggish, overfed and fatigued?  Working out and eating healthy can combat all of those feelings and leave you feeling powerful, confident and like you are ready to tackle anything.  That's what I want for you because I have experienced the life changing impact of being in one of these groups and I wish that feeling on everybody!

So, what is a challenge group?

A challenge group is a closed group on Facebook that I, as your coach, run and it will last for 60 days.  This is all done in a small-group setting so that we, as a group, can get to know each other and support each other through the journey.  We truly create a mini family atmosphere which helps everyone stick to their goals and get the best possible results.  By joining a challenge group you are committing to yourself and the results that you want to see.  Anyone can start on a new health and fitness journey, but white-knuckling it by ourselves is more difficult than we may realize at first.  By surrounding ourselves with other people who are going through the same struggles but are also committed to seeing change, we are building a support system from the ground up.



Each day in our closed group I will do a daily post that is meant to encourage, motivate, support and help you.  Some days it will be a mini assignment, a reminder about drinking your water, a question to get the group chatting or just a post about something I've been thinking about.  These groups can be an absolute blast and you can make new friends with others who are walking right alongside you!  Everything is, of course, private in the group.  Your other Facebook friends will have no idea what's going on in this journey of yours - unless you decide that you want to share it with them!

How does it work?

The first week of our group I always start without working out but instead focusing in on our mindsets and what we hope to achieve.  We will work together on setting realistic goals as well as learning about clean eating, how to start meal planning and how to make it work in your life.

The next week is our kick off week!  We start the workouts and there are a ton of options.  You have the choice of any Team Beachbody Fitness program and I will help you pick the one that will be perfect for you based on where you are now and where you want to get to.  There are workout programs for people who are just starting out all the way through to people who are already fitness experts, so there is definitely something that will work for you.

Along with doing a Team Beachbody Fitness program, you have to have me as your Team Beachbody Coach.  This is completely free and the challenge group admission is for my customers only, so you are sure to get my full attention and focus during your journey.

Lastly, each person in the challenge group is required to replace one meal a day with Shakeology.  Shakeology is not a protein shake that is comparable to other products on the market.  Rather than getting just an extra serving of protein or random calories, you are getting high-quality, non-processed, artificial ingredients.  Shakeology was specifically made to be a complete health shake; if you are working to lose weight, it can play a role in that, but it doesn't end there!  People who are looking to gain weight or stay the same also benefit from Shakeology because it is more than just protein or weightloss.  Its focus is on whole-body health - and all of us could use more of that!



Personally, I almost always replace breakfast with Shakeology, but that's not a requirement!  If you struggle to get in lunch everyday or find yourself running through a drive in every night for dinner, then one of those meals would be a better option for you.  Deciding which meal you would like to replace with Shakeology is something I can talk with you about and help you decide. 

This is not a life-long commitment, but I do ask that you commit to it through the duration of the group.  At the groups end, we can chat more about how you did, where you want to go next and how I can help you as you continue on your journey!

How do I join?

The easiest answer to this is to just simply let me know that you are interested!  By filling out the application below, you are telling me that you would like to learn more, that you have health goals you would like to work towards, and that you could use a little extra help.  That's it!  You are not committing to the group, you are just opening up a conversation with me so I can know you are interested and so we can chat about how a challenge group could help you in your specific situation.
