Have you heard the news that there is a new program being released called PiYo? If not, let me be the first to tell you about it! If you already have, I hope you're as excited as I am!!! PiYo will be the newest program by Chalene Johnson, who has already helped tons of people get healthier and fitter with her program TurboFire and Chalene Extreme. TurboFire has been my go-to workout throughout this pregnancy so far, and I'm excited to add PiYo into the mix as well! Sometimes the jumps get a bit too much for me in TurboFire - so it's going to be great to have a workout that doesn't include any!
I will be starting my PiYo journey after I get back from Beachbody's Summit event in Las Vegas this weekend and I would love to have you join me! From everything I have seen and heard about PiYo, this is going to be a killer workout for people of ANY fitness level! If you aren't up to jumps and high-impact exercises this will give you a chance to get in an incredible workout without feeling like you're missing out on all the action! Even if you ARE up to some of the more crazy physical moves, this will still get you sweating and seeing amazing results. It's truly made for everyone!
Before I started with some of the more high-impact workouts like Insanity, Les Mills Combat and Focus T25 I had an old pilates DVD that I loved. This was one that I used in high school and dabbled in during summers home from college (granted, a lot of beer was consumed during these times as well, so the results weren't nearly what I might have liked!) I haven't found a new workout that takes care of my joints, flexibility and stretching as well as that old Pilates dvd did - but I think Beachbody has just come up with the perfect solution! It is important to remember that our joints need to be taken care of - after all, they'll be carrying us around for the rest of our lives!
PiYo truly is for everyone. You don't just have to take it from me, though - this is straight from Chalene Johnson herself! My goal as a Beachbody coach isn't just to make the super fit even more fit - it is to help people who have struggled, are scared, nervous and apprehensive about starting out on a new journey. I truly believe that THIS could be the program to make all those fears a thing of the past! I have been in those shoes and believe me, I know they're not fun to walk around in. I jumped straight into Insanity but I would have loved to have had this option!
If you have had previous injuries that you feel will hold you back from starting out with a high-impact workout, this is the ticket! There is no jumping involved, so your knees won't be taking on a full assault. This workout is about using your body, as it is right now, to strengthen and workout your body.
So how exactly does this work?
PiYo requires no weights and no equipment, so this is a great way to get started on a fitness journey. Once you have the program you have everything you need to start seeing results! Each workout is only 25-45 minutes long, and the entire program lasts just 60 days. 60 days! In just two months we will see crazy results using no weights, no equipment and only spending 25-45 minutes a day working out.
PiYo is being officially launched this weekend, and next Monday will be available exclusively to Team Beachbody members. You won't be able to find this on Beachbody websites, on tv or anywhere else on the internet. What PiYo Workouts are Included?
- Align (46 mins): The Fundamentals
- Upper Body (35 mins): This focused workout will strengthen and stretch your entire body while building on the movement patterns you have learned in Align.
- Define: Lower Body (25 min): This will shape and tone everything from your glutes, hamstrings, quads and calves. It will do so gently yet effectively to help you get sleek and lean legs.
- Sweat (35 mins): This is a traditional PiYo workout that is fast-paced with body weight strength training and ab work!
- Core (30 mins): This is an ab-centric workout that targets every angle of the abs and backs. I've read this will be a calorie-torcher too!
- Drench (45 mins): This is a total body workout to get you sweaty, burning calories and it is going to have your metabolism on fire!
- Strength Intervals (25 mins): This is designed to tone the whole body and burn tons of calories with no weights required!
- Sculpt (30 mins): No weights are required for this intense, full-body workout!
