A few things you should know about me:
1) I don't like being cold.
2) I'm not, in any sense of the word, a sports fanatic.
3) I hate black pants.
These things are going to make me so happy tomorrow.
Here's the deal. I live in Minnesota, which is extremely unfortunate for someone who doesn't like being cold. For those of you lucky enough to live in a place where you can't find ice on your trees- I'm jealous. For those of you who live in a place where this is possible- I say let's grab some drinks and put that ice to use. Forget buying or making ice in the freezer. At my next party I'm just going to tell anyone that wants their drinks on the rocks to go outside and help themselves.
Below is a picture of what is happening in my front yard. Seriously? I think I'm going to call in sick until the summer.
The picture below is what I think of this crap... it's just gross. And believe me, it's impossible to really ever be warm when you can look outside and see this. Unless you drink a lot (yep, it's time to get a refill).
So, lucky me, I get to walk to work tomorrow. Actually, I'm glad I can walk to work because I hate filling up my tank about as much as I hate the cold. So I'd rather save the money and not drive. But still, I don't like the cold. Anywho... the Vikings play the Packers on Saturday. (I know this because an e-mail went around work today telling us.) Also in that e-mail? We were told that we can support the Vikings and wear purple and gold with jeans tomorrow.
I love days when we can wear jeans! Namely because I hate black pants. The order of what I'd like to wear to work goes something like this:
3) Pajama Pants
5) Prom dress
6-789235) Anything else
789236) Black Pants!
Well, sadly enough for me I'm stuck having to wear black pants everyday. When I leave the house I look something like this (I keep shoes at work because walking in snow and ice requires a bit more heavy-duty footwear):
Woot woot that tomorrow we get to wear jeans! Only hitch- I don't own anything purple and gold (back to me not being a sports fanatic...oops). I do, however, have a green and yellow John Deere sweatshirt. Even I know enough about sports to know that those are the same colors as the Packers- think they'll let me get away with wearing it and saying I'm supporting the Packers instead of the Vikings?
Yeah, me neither.
I guess I have two options- go shopping tonight and get something purple and yellow or spend my Friday in black pants and whatever color shirt I want.
Or I could just keep re-filling this wine glass and call in sick. Yeah, that sounds the best.
Weird thing- I had Runaway Train by Soul Asylum playing on YouTube and it's first recommendation for my next song was Georgia Peaches by Lauren Alaina. Weird? At least to me I guess.
